Introduction
AIScreen’s Dashboards feature enables you to display Tableau dashboards automatically on your digital screens. By recording the login and navigation process, your screen can always show the latest analytics, visual reports, and business insights without any manual input.
Currently, AIScreen supports two-factor authentication (2FA) via Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator. If your Tableau account uses a different 2FA method, we recommend switching to one of these supported options to ensure full compatibility. Need help? Contact our support team anytime.
Supported 2FA methods for dashboards:
Step 1: Register and Log In
1.1 Register on Tableau and AIScreen
- Go to tableau.com and sign up for a Tableau account if you haven’t already.
- Then head to AIScreen.io and register for your AIScreen dashboard environment.
1.2 Log In to AIScreen
- Use your AIScreen email and password to log in and access the admin dashboard.
Step 2: Add the Tableau Dashboard App from the AIScreen App Store
2.1 Open the App Store
- Once you’re logged in to AIScreen, navigate to the Apps section and click Open App Store.
2.2 Find the Tableau App
- Use the search bar to look for Tableau.
- Click on the Tableau app from the results to open its setup panel.
2.3 Launch the Tableau App
- Click Go to App to begin the configuration process.
- You’ll now proceed with inserting the link and recording login steps.
Step 3: Connect and Configure Tableau
3.1 Paste the Tableau URL
- In your browser, open the Tableau dashboard or report you want to display on screen.
- Copy the full URL and paste it into the Write URL field in AIScreen.
- A login panel will appear on the right side — this is an embedded browser that lets AIScreen record your login steps.
Note: If your Tableau account uses 2FA, paste the secret key from your Google or Microsoft Authenticator into the 2FA field before you begin recording.
3.2 Start Recording
- Click Start Recording and enter your Tableau credentials in the embedded browser.
- Follow all required steps to log in and access the dashboard.
3.3 Stop Recording and Check
- Once the dashboard is fully loaded, click Stop Recording.
- You’ll see a list of recorded actions and a live preview of the page.
- Confirm that your Tableau dashboard appears as expected.
- Set the Refresh rate (sec) to define how often AIScreen checks the page (e.g., every 60 seconds).
Step 4: Name and Finish
- At the top of the screen, enter a name for this setup (e.g., Sales Analytics – Tableau) and click Finish to save.
- Your dashboard is now fully automated. AIScreen will log in and display the dashboard automatically every time the screen turns on.
Conclusion
- You’ve successfully set up your Salesforce Dashboard in AIScreen using the built-in recorder. With automatic login and navigation, your screens will always display the right Salesforce data—no manual intervention needed.
