Introduction
AIScreen’s Dashboards feature lets you automatically log in and display web-based dashboards like Grafana on your screens. This is ideal for showing real-time system monitoring, analytics, or server metrics across office, control room, or NOC displays — without manual interaction.
AIScreen currently supports two-factor authentication (2FA) through Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator. If your Grafana instance uses a different 2FA method, we recommend switching to one of the supported options for seamless automation. Contact our support team if you need assistance.
Supported 2FA methods for dashboards:
Step 1: Register and Log In
1.1 Register on Grafana and AIScreen
- Go to grafana.com and create a Grafana Cloud or self-hosted account if you don’t have one yet.
- Then, register at AIScreen.io to begin using the Dashboards feature.
1.2 Log In to AIScreen
- Use your email and password to access your AIScreen dashboard environment.
Step 2: Add the Grafana Dashboard App from the AIScreen App Store
2.1 Open the App Store
- After logging in, go to the Apps section and click Open App Store.
2.2 Find the Grafana App
- Search for Grafana using the search bar.
- Click the Grafana app to open the integration page.
2.3 Launch the Grafana App
- Click Go to App to begin setup.
- You’ll now proceed with login recording and URL configuration.
Step 3: Connect and Configure Grafana
3.1 Paste the Grafana URL
- In the dashboard settings, paste the direct URL of the Grafana dashboard you want to show into the Write URL field.
- Make sure it’s a valid public or authenticated link (e.g., a specific panel or board).
- An embedded browser window will appear on the right side — this is where you will perform the login.
Note: If 2FA is enabled, paste your Google or Microsoft Authenticator secret key into the 2FA field before recording.
3.2 Start Recording
- Click Start Recording and proceed to log in using your Grafana credentials.
- Complete any authentication steps inside the embedded window.
3.3 Stop Recording and Check
- Once you reach the correct dashboard view, click Stop Recording.
- A list of recorded actions and a live preview will appear.
- Check that the Grafana dashboard displays correctly.
- Set the Refresh rate (sec) — e.g., every 60 seconds — to control how often AIScreen verifies the page is live.
Step 4: Name and Finish
- At the top, give your configuration a name like Grafana Metrics Display and click Finish.
- AIScreen will now automatically log in and display the selected Grafana dashboard each time the screen starts.
Conclusion
- You’ve now configured your Grafana Dashboard in AIScreen with automated login and live display. Your real-time metrics and system data will always be visible on screen — no manual steps required.
